Many of you know I design jewelry, but many of you don’t. I actually started right after my son was born. Sacredbirch is the name of my new jewelry line.

Born in Los Angeles, I was fascinated by the beaches and mountains that surrounded Southern California. As a child,  I dug for rocks and fossils along Topanga Canyon, collected sea glass and shells at Malibu beach, and dreamed of panning for gold. I kept-and still own- a tiny treasure box, full of polished rocks and petrified wood.

I resonated so deeply with the gifts the earth provides, and the healing powers of gemstones- that I always had to touch and hold them. Turquoise was one of my favorite stones, as well as pearls, which have constantly reminded me of magical orbs- each one a work of art that is elegant and one of a kind.

As a makeup artist, I indulged my visual talent as I helped women feel beautiful. I found meaning in colors and textures, and dreamed of being a fashion designer. While that dream didn’t manifest exactly as I thought it would, I did find jewelry designing, and became addicted to the twisting, bending and shaping of the precious metals.

I started experimenting with making jewelry after my son was born- over twenty-five years ago. I made mother’s bracelets with sterling silver and gold beads, and I sold them to a local maternity store. After becoming a single mother, I moved to Sun Valley, Idaho and made pearl eyeglass holders. I began selling my jewelry to the Sun Valley Lodge, local art galleries, and clothing stores. Sometimes I would sell my necklaces right off my neck!

When I moved back to LA, I continued my designing and making jewelry that featured crosses and gold Angel coins. The fact that Angels and Saints are so beloved, shows how medallions and spiritual touchstones are a big part of how we feel loved, safe, and cared for.

My jewelry connects me to the powerful energy contained in the gemstones I use. The beauty from the luminous, uneven shapes of baroque pearls bring me such joy -that I feel so blessed to have found this calling.

Sacred Birch jewelry is for women who love jewelry, and can buy it for themselves or their best friend. It is for women who understand the healing power of the symbols they wear close to their heart.

Meaning of the name Sacred Birch

I’m often asked about why I chose the name of sacred birch for my jewelry designs…I really love the two words together, and I found that combined they really spoke to me. Sacred is something highly valued and revered. Our jewelry is something that we value and hand down to future generations, so I wanted to include this sentimental aspect to my designs.

Birch tree- From the Ogham Symbolism -birch is all about renewal, transformation, and growth. The birch is able to sustain harsh conditions, and also be adaptable. Birch is courageous and a true pioneer- reviving the landscape where it is growing and taking root.

All of us have times where we need to remember we can be courageous, we can adapt, and use our passion to ignite with our strong spirit.

I thought this would describe the beauty in pearls and gemstones, as well as the precious metals that can be melted, bent and reimagined for us to adorn ourselves with. ~I would love it if you came and visited, and if you love to adorn yourself…indulge in a special piece that speaks to you at SacredBirch.com

xoxo
